Charlotte Damgaard, Chair of Damgaard Company, joins Maternity Foundation as a Global Maternity Partner
The international NGO, Maternity Foundation, is proud to welcome Charlotte Damgaard, Chair of Damgaard Company, as a Global Maternity Partner. Through this partnership, we are strengthening our commitment to ensuring safer births in low-resource settings by expanding access to lifesaving care for mothers worldwide
“I am very pleased to get the opportunity to support Maternity Foundation through the newly established Charlotte and Preben Damgaard’s Foundation. As a woman and a mother, it feels like a fundamental human right to have access to safe childbirth. What Maternity Foundation contributes—through relatively simple yet highly effective initiatives and technology—makes a significant difference. Supporting women and children lies close to my heart, and I look forward to getting closer to Maternity Foundation’s projects in developing countries”, says Charlotte Damgaard.
Global Maternity Partners are a small group of high-profile philanthropic investors, each of whom shares Maternity Foundation’s goal – to ensure safer childbirths worldwide. Maternity Foundation plans to expand the group in coming years with more innovative and inspiring investors from around the world, providing financial support to Maternity Foundation’s continued roll out of its Safe Delivery+ Programme, designed to continually enhance the quality of care provided around childbirth.
With the support of these partners, Maternity Foundation will be able to expand its reach and make a significant impact over the coming years, benefiting not only mothers and babies but entire communities and societies as saving women from dying in childbirth translates into billions of dollars in terms of welfare gains.
“We are thrilled to welcome Charlotte Damgaard into our new strategic Global Maternity Partners programme to accelerate our efforts in ensuring safer childbirth across the world. The maternal mortality rate has stalled in recent years and underpins the growing need to promptly address this alarming global issue. With Charlotte Damgaard’s support, alongside our other Global Maternity Partners, we will be able to more effectively confront this need with the attention and timeliness it deserves”, says Anna Frellsen, CEO at Maternity Foundation.
