Maternity Foundation launches the Safe Delivery App Introduction Videos in English, French and Arabic
Maternity Foundation is proud to announce the release of introductory videos for the Safe Delivery App, now available in English, Arabic, and French. Additionally, the videos will soon be available in Spanish and Portuguese.
These videos are a key step in making the app’s life-saving tools more accessible to midwives and healthcare professionals worldwide, empowering them to deliver safer births and improve maternal and newborn care outcomes. They provide a step-by-step guide to the Safe Delivery App including instructions on how to download it, select the appropriate country version, and emphasising its key features such as animated institutional guides, action cards and the My Learning platform.
So far, the Safe Delivery App and the accompanying programme has reached more than 455,000 healthcare professionals in low- and middle-income countries worldwide. In the coming years, Maternity Foundation looks to further scale the app and strengthen the user engagement.
About the Safe Delivery App
The Safe Delivery App is an evidence-based job aid, learning, and training tool designed to support midwives, nurses, and healthcare professionals in assisting births and managing the most common complications. Among other features, it contains simple, animated instruction videos, descriptions of practical procedures, and action cards.
The app’s My Learning platform allows users to practice and test their knowledge interactively and at their own time and pace. At the same time, the user can achieve a formal certification and become Safe Delivery Champion through the App. It is free and once downloaded, it works offline, making it possible to be used in even the most remote areas.
The App is part of the Safe Delivery+ programme, aimed at addressing healthcare challenges in resource-constrained areas. As part of the Safe Delivery+ programme, Maternity Foundation offers online and in-person clinical trainings and training of trainers. We integrate our services into project specific and national education and training programmes, pre-service curricula, in-service training, and connects with other digital solutions.
