The App consists of 12 content modules addressing key interventions of childbirth emergencies and preventative procedures, all aligned to international clinical guidelines.
Five basic features guide health workers in the App: animated instruction videos, action cards, drug lists, practical procedures, and an individualized e-learning component, MyLearning.
The App works offline once downloaded, so healthcare workers in even the most remote settings can always refer to it – either on the job, in their spare time, or as part of their training.
It is available in global versions in French and English and has been adapted into numerous languages and clinical guidelines for specific countries, including Hindi, Myanmar language, Russian, Amharic and Bangla.
The App consists of 12 content modules addressing key interventions of childbirth emergencies and preventative procedures, including infection prevention, post-abortion care, hypertension, post-partum haemorrhage and newborn management.
In the animated videos, health workers are taken through clear and step-by-step instructions within each module. The videos can support them as part of their studies, training or when handling a specific complication. Animations and language in the videos are adapted to specific countries and contexts.
Action Cards provide quick guidance and step-by-step actions within each module. If there is no time to watch a video, an action card to be a quick and powerful source of information.
Practical procedures offer more in-debth guidance on how to manage specific procedures and complications – for instance how to do an intravenous access on newborns.
In the drug list, healthcare workers can look up specific drugs and dosages for each procedure, which can often save them critical time during a complication.
In MyLearning, users can quiz themselves in all content modules in the App in their own time. After passing all levels in all modules and taking a final certification exam, the users can earn a certificate as Safe Delivery Champion, which will last for a year after which they can retake the exam.
