Maternity Foundation welcomes new team members
Maternity Foundation is growing both in size, partnerships, programmatic work, and geographical reach. As a reflection of this, we are thrilled to have welcomed three great additions to our team in the past weeks: Chief Technical Officer, Mohit Mathur, Deputy Director, Birthe Thomsen, and Senior Program Manager, Kate Williams.
Mohit Mathur joined as our new CTO on September 1st. He is based in Bangalore, India and has more than 17 years of experience in the IT sector and is an expert in software project management processes. In his role, Mohit will coordinate our it-development, work closely with our development partners, our digital partners such as Aastar Urmika and benshi.ai, and have a cross-cutting supporting role to the entire team in our ongoing digital transformation – in India, Ethiopia, and Copenhagen.
Birthe Thomsen came on board as Maternity Foundation’s new Deputy Director on September 1st. Birthe has a wealth of experience withing strategy, business development, and business support through her previous positions at PA Consult, Novo Nordisk, and Accenture to name just a few. Birthe is part of our Copenhagen office and will be taking on a cross cutting role, supporting the implementation of our strategy and business development while leading numerous operational and organizational tasks.
Kate Williams joined our Copenhagen office as Senior Program Manager in August before having worked remotely for a few months. Kate is Australian and started her career as a lawyer but have worked in global health since 2012, including in China in Timor-Leste within HIV/Aids and maternal health. For the past five years Kate worked with Marie Stopes International in London, most recently as a Senior Program Manager looking after a portfolio of countries implementing a large safe abortion and family planning project. Kate is overseeing our Asia portfolio and in general supporting the program team.
