Maternity Foundation receives French eHealth award
On July 3rd 2017, Maternity Foundation was proudly awarded the Fondation Pierre Fabre’s Global South e-Health Observatory Award in Toulouse, France.
The award was accepted by our CEO Anna Frellsen during the Global South e-Health Conference, which is hosted by the French foundation Pierre Fabre Foundation.
The Fondation Pierre Fabre is dedicated to improve access to healthcare and medicines for people in the low- and middle-income countries. One of their focus areas is the promotion of eHealth inititatives. Therefore, they have established the Global South eHealth Observatory (ODESS) to help develop, document and promote projects using ICT in the healthcare realm.
The use of eHealth tools – a cross between ICTs and treatment approaces – is a fundamental issue to ensure better access to healthcare services in low- and middle-income countries.
The Foundation holds an annual conference at its headquarters. This day is an opportunity for dialogue between the stakeholders and potential partners of eHealth ecosystems. In addition to accepting the award, Anna Frellsen was also given the opportunty to introduce Maternity Foundation’s work with The Safe Delivery App to the conference’s audience of eHealth experts from France, Africa and Asia.
“The purpose of the award is to give recipients exposure, support for the development of their program and the chance to network with other international partners”, explained Béatrice Garette, Executive Director of the Fondation Pierre Fabre at the conference.
The ODESS website gathers social networks and publishes and relays information on eHealth in the Global South. Learn more here: http://www.odess.io/
