Hiwot’s responsibilities at Maternity Foundation include stakeholder management, establishing new partnership with development partners, strengthening partnership with government bodies, fundraising, managing programs in humanitarian setting and emerging regions, and exploring new initiatives for partnership

 Previously to joining Maternity Foundation in October 2014, Hiwot has worked with Ethiopian Midwives Association as Executive Director, at Lambadina Institute Health and Development Communication as Monitoring and Evaluation officer, at Birihan Integrated Community Development Organization as a Social worker, and in different government and private hospitals as a Clinical Nurse.

Hiwot holds an MA in social work, and BA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa university.
