Our work in India

India has made considerable progress in reducing infant and maternal mortality over the last 30 years. However, some geographic areas lack significantly behind the national average. The Government of India has launched several quality improvement initiatives but found that ensuring easy access to updated clinical protocols and learning for the healthcare workers remained a challenge. To overcome this, the Government of India partnered with Maternity Foundation to integrate the Safe Delivery App into quality improvement initiatives. In India, the Safe Delivery App and our accompanied training program has been integrated into several national education and training initiatives for midwifery healthcare professionals. This has enabled nationwide scale and enhanced sustainability of the intervention.

• The App exists in 8 languages in India

• Users are from all states/union territories

• Studies conducted with healthcare professionals in India and students have demonstrated significant increases in clinical knowledge and confidence from using the Safe Delivery App
